Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) is a project was developed to promote awareness campaigns and youth actions in environment and climate change in order to disseminate the importance of its protection in Khartoum with a specofoc focus on vulnerable area such as Mayo, Jabil Awlia locality. The project is taken place in three schools; Block 7 School in Yarmouk, Maymouna School in Angola and Ghaar Hiraa School in Mandella. It involves actions from both artists and people who are interested in the environment. The concept of the project is to promote awareness through art and murals in these schools and engage the students in a more absorbable way.

The project was carried out from February until April, it consisted 5 phases:

  • Climate change: workshop for climate change and concepts
  • Workshop design: assisted the environmentalists and artiest for worked in schools The the participant to brainstorm their ideas to come up with the designs they will draw in the awareness.
  • Field visit: The participants visit the 3 schools and worked there for 10 days
  • Climate awareness campaign: each group has 10 member artists/environmentalists implementing the activities (awareness campaign + murals).
  • Booklet.

The future belongs to young people with an education and the imagination to create. That is the source of power in this century.
